What is Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese healing system and spiritual method for personal growth and transformation. The origins of Reiki can be traced back to Dr. Mikao Usui who founded the system of Reiki at the end of the 19th Century.

Reiki includes the transfer of energy from the practitioner to the client which activates and supports the body's natural ability to heal itself through the balancing of energy. Reiki uses specific techniques to restore and balance the natural life force energy within the body. Being a holistic and natural hands-on energy healing system, Reiki touches on all levels: body, mind, and spirit.

Reiki is a healing technique that also promotes stress reduction. It is applied by aying on hands and is based on the idea that life force energy flows through us. This energy is what causes us to be alive. If the ife force energy is low, we are more susceptible to sickness and stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being healthy and happy.

A Reiki treatment can feel like a magnificent glowing radiance that circulates through and around the client. Reiki has multiple basic effects: it brings relaxation and peace, unlocks energy blockages, detoxifies the system and provides new vitality. Many have reported miraculous results.

Reiki can relieve pain and acute problems quite rapidly. Depending on the specific nature of a disease, it may take a series of treatments to receive a positive result. Reiki goes beyond the symptoms and treats the root cause of the disease.

Reiki Treatment

During a Reiki treatment the client is fully clothed and is usually lying on a massage table. The Reiki practitioner will place the hands on the head, the abdomen, the legs, back and at any areas of discomfort or pain. The Reiki energy flows through the practitioner into the client and can be felt as heat, cold or tingling. It may happen that the client feels heaviness or sometimes no sensation at all.

A full Reiki treatment takes about 60 minutes.

Reiki may work simultaneously on different levels physically, psychologically and spiritually.
